Set in the heart of Basingstoke, Hampshire, Waxworks is a thriving beauty salon. Owner, Michele Trotter had been keeping track of orders, appointments and important data by using pen and paper and a very basic computer programme, until in July 2008, Michele installed i-salon. Where her previous system only offered a minimum of 15-minute increments for appointments, Michele can set appointments through i-salon to reflect any length she chooses. “Now we can book ten-minute appointments for eyebrow shapes and instead of getting four clients an hour, we can fit in as many as six. It’s a subtle point but it makes a massive difference to our potential income at busy periods, increasing our productivity by about 30 per cent. It allows us to use our time far more effectively.”
